Collection data for each lichen in the University of Maine at Fort Kent's lichen herbarium is continually being updated in the lichen database. Entries for species, genus, family, order, location, community, substrate, and collection number have been created as can other fields. Designed and implemented by Dr. Raymond Albert and populated by Dr. Steven Selva, the database may now be searched online by visitors through the world wide web.
The specimens being chronicled include the lichens of Maine:

The specimens being chronciled also include the lichens of north-central New Brunswick:
The majority of specimens were collected as part of ongoing research projects
that focus on the lichen order Caliciales and the use
of lichens in assessing ecological continuity in the forests of northern New
England and Maritime Canada.
